Mark III Systems Wins Two 2020 IBM Beacon Awards and Two Beacon Finalists
Mark III Systems is honored and pleased to announce that we have won two 2020 IBM Beacon Awards, for Outstanding Storage Systems Solutions and Outstanding Technology Support Services Solution. The auspicious awards will be presented during the IBM Think digital conference on May 5, 2020. Additionally, Mark III Systems was recognized as a finalist in two other categories, Outstanding Solution Driving Client Innovation and Transformation with IBM Power Systems and Digital Marketing Excellence Award. This recognition validates our achievements and our dedication to delivering business value.
Regarding the Beacon Award for Outstanding Storage Systems Solutions, by working with a large medical research university in Texas to consolidate 20+ disparate department data silos across HPC, analytics, AI/ML/DL, and general-purpose storage into one repository based on IBM Spectrum Scale, Mark III Systems helped them achieve:
- Significantly more HPC/AI/ML/analytics jobs and throughput
- Improved performance and reduced latency on jobs
- Lower TCO over the short and long-term
- More agile operations, all with less FTE management and focus
For the Beacon Award for Outstanding Technology Support Services Solution, Mark III Systems developed a unique management tool that allows both Mark III maintenance specialists and their customers to effectively manage large, complex IT asset portfolios, both hardware and software. The Mark III Systems Asset Maintenance Portal (AMP) was developed in-house initially as a tool to help maintenance specialists proactively provide maintenance renewal quotes as contracts are set to expire. The true value came when the portal was made available to customers, and with an upcoming mobile app that value will continue to grow.
Mark III Systems was recognized as a winner for 2 of only 17 total Beacon Awards across the IBM portfolio, standing out among dozens of global applicants. Winners were chosen by a panel of expert judges that consisted of industry experts, IBM executives and industry analysts who recognized how Mark III Systems solutions spark client innovation with IBM technology.
